Ultra High-speed CMS execution environment ”KUSANAGI” developed and provided by Prime Strategy Corporation (President: Kengyu Nakamura; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter “Prime Strategy”), is now supports with Drupal 9 and the latest version, Drupal 10, released in December 2022. Background on Drupal support
Drupal is an open source CMS (Content Management System). It accounts for 1.2% of all websites and 1.8% of sites using CMS (*1), and is used mainly for large-scale websites of government agencies in the United States, London, and France, and educational institutions such as Oxford University (*2). In Japan, it is also used as a CMS for the websites of listed companies.
Stability and security are important for large-scale websites of government and educational institutions.
Therefore, we believe that it is important for KUSANAGI to continue to support the latest Drupal for the development of the enterprise OSS ecosystem, which is our corporate philosophy, and have decided to make KUSANAGI 9 Drupal-support.

Support for the two latest versions of Drupal
At this time, KUSANAGI 9 supports the two latest versions of Drupal 10 and Drupal 9 provisioning, which will be available in December 2022.
The database can be selected from MariaDB and PostgreSQL for the CentOS Stream 8 version / AlmaLinux OS 8 version, and MariaDB for the CentOS Stream 9 version / AlmaLinux OS 9 version.
With support for multiple versions, it can be used to verify updates from Drupal 9 to Drupal 10 and as a migration environment for Drupal 7, which will be EOL in November 2023.
Expansion of CMS Platform Integration Services
One of KUSANAGI’s goals is to provide a stable and secure CMS with high performance, a security-conscious configuration, and continuous updates so that businesses can use it with peace of mind.
The environment surrounding CMS is becoming increasingly complex, with many companies running multiple CMSs in multiple versions and on different platforms (cloud, rental servers, etc.), and facing challenges in security and web governance.
In order to solve these issues, we have been promoting support for multiple CMSs and multiple operating systems, including official support for KUSANAGI’s Movable Type.
In addition, to support corporate information system departments and web departments facing challenges, we have been providing CMS platform integration services since last year.
With this official Drupal support, we believe that more customers will be able to use our CMS platform integration services because they will be able to handle Drupal migrations more quickly and safely.

Expansion of functions as a CMS integration platform
Aiming to solve social issues, we will continue to expand functions as a CMS integration platform and support multiple CMSs to contribute to the realization of web governance for many companies.

Support for migration from KUSANAGI 8 to KUSANAGI 9
On June 30, 2024, CentOS 7, the base OS for KUSANAGI 8, the most popular OS at this time, will reach EOL.
In addition to supporting new operating systems with KUSANAGI 9, we are also expanding our migration support functions to ensure a smooth transition to the latest environment for our users.
Most recently, the migration of SSL certificates, including Let’s Encrypt, has been added to the migrate command, which performs migration from KUSANAGI 8 to KUSANAGI 9.
We will also work with each platform to enable more users to migrate to KUSANAGI 9 on their current platforms.
3. promotion of overseas use and license development
In addition to promoting the use of the free version of KUSANAGI overseas, we intend to enhance the functions and support of the Business Edition, which is designed for corporate use, and the Premium Edition, which is equipped with WEXAL® Page Speed Technology®, so that their use will expand overseas. We also intend to enhance the functions and support of the Business Edition and Premium Edition with WEXAL® Page Speed Technology® to expand their use overseas.
In addition, we aim to license the acceleration technologies and brands included in KUSANAGI and WEXAL® Page Speed Technology® to platform providers such as rental servers, CDNs, and SaaS services in Japan and overseas.

About Ultra High-speed CMS execution environment ”KUSANAGI”
KUSANAGI is a fast and secure virtual machine image developed and provided by Prime Strategy. KUSANAGI is available in 251 regions in 34 countries around the world on 28 major domestic and international platforms (as of December 2022), with a cumulative total of over 65,000 units in operation (as of September 2022).
KUSANAGI 9 can handle more than 25,000 concurrent requests per second (HTTP) in a typical cloud environment (*1) when using page caching, and more than 210 concurrent requests per second (both HTTP and HTTPS) when not using page caching. Compared to the standard LAMP environment (*2), the speedup is approximately 2,330 times faster when page cache is used, and approximately 20 times faster when page cache is not used.
Three editions are offered: the “Free Edition” for personal use, the paid “Business Edition” for business use, and the paid top-of-the-line “Premium Edition” for business use, which includes the WEXAL® Page Speed Technology® web acceleration engine.
